Rates & Policies

Base Rate:  $20/hr for the first 2 children

Additional Children: $2 additional/hr.  Should your group be large in number and require multiple providers, these rates apply per sitter.  We strive for a 4 child to one care provider ratio.

Additional Fees:

Booking Fee: $20 for first booking, $5 for each additional booking if reserved at same time of first booking.
Travel Fee: $10 for anywhere north of the Duck research pier and south or west of Nags Head, $10 on Saturday to Duck addresses  (due to high traffic/travel times-Saturday only from Memorial Day to Labor Day) and $15 to Corolla.

Holiday Base Rate: $25/hour for first two children (Holiday Dates listed below)
Additional Children: $2 additional/hr.

July 4th Rates: We are happy to watch the children while you celebrate.  $35/hour for the first 2 children; each additional child is $2 additional/hr.


  • A 3 hour minimum applies for all evening bookings, a 4 hour minimum for all daytime bookings. A credit card is required to hold a reservation.
  • We accept all major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, Discover & AMEX.
  • We do not accept cash or checks with the exception of gratuity which, at the discretion of the client, can be given directly to the sitter. Gratuities may also be added to credit card when billed if communicated.
  • A $20 booking fee applies to all initial bookings
  • OBXIC reserves the right to refuse service to any client for any reason deemed necessary by management.
  • OBXIC reserves the right to cancel bookings without advance notice for any reason deemed necessary by management and specifically if management is concerned for the safety and/or welfare of our care providers.
  • No client will privately engage in business of any kind with any care provider referred by OBXIC. (Each care provider has signed an agreement with OBXIC that prohibits him/her from doing any additional work for any past or present client of OBXIC without consent of OBXIC Management.)

Cancellation Policy

Due to the high demand of our care providers, we respectfully ask for a minimum of 48 hours advance notice to cancel your reservation. Clients who wish to cancel a reservation with less than 48 hours advance notice will be billed for full fees for their estimated 3-hour minimum service. A $20 cancellation fee will apply to all cancellations regardless of advance notice.

**The holiday dates listed above are subject to change and management reserves the right to extend holiday periods based on current bookings and availability of sitters.
